Know What Type of Number You're Working With

The ANI TYPE LOOKUP API provides telecom operators, analytics platforms, fraud management systems, and call authentication providers with multiple views of a telephone number's service classification through a single API transaction.

Customers submit the calling telephone number (ANI) and the ANI II value received during call setup. The API then returns three independent service-type indicators derived from different sources within the telecommunications ecosystem:

• ANI Type – The original ANI II classification received during call setup.

• LRN Type – The line-type associated with the current Local Routing Number      (LRN) serving the telephone number.

• LERG Type – The line type associated with the telephone number's numbering      assignment as published in industry routing databases.

By consolidating signaling-based and numbering-based service classifications into a single response, the ANI Type API enables customers to perform their own analysis, comparisons, business logic, routing decisions, authentication workflows, and risk assessments.
