The Validate By ANI API does not determine whether a call is fraudulent, spoofed, or malicious. Instead, it provides an independent consistency assessment based on authoritative telecom data sources, enabling customers to incorporate the result into their own routing, authentication, analytics, and risk-management processes.
This API delivers both a validation decision and the underlying carrier information needed to support analytics, investigation, routing, authentication, and risk-management applications.
The VALIDATE BY ANI ENHANCED API provides a simple and efficient method for determining whether the ANI Type received during call setup is consistent with the known carrier and numbering characteristics of the calling telephone number. Therefore , we return the ANI Type consistency result with detailed carrier and service-provider intelligence in a single API response.
Customers submit the calling telephone number (ANI) and the ANI II value received during call setup. The API analyzes the ANI II classification against authoritative telecom intelligence sources, including current routing and numbering information associated with that telephone number.
The VALIDATE BY ANI API performs the comparison and returns a simple validation result, 0 OR 1. In addition to this validation result, the API returns key carrier and geographic attributes that provide additional context about the telephone number and its associated service provider.
Validation Logic
The service evaluates whether the reported ANI Typereported during call setup is CONSISTENT with the service characteristics indicated by carrier routing and numbering data sources.
The API response contains a single validation code:
IMPORTANT
The VALIDATE BY ANI ENHANCED API does not determine whether a call is fraudulent, spoofed, or malicious. Instead, it provides an independent consistency assessment based on authoritative telecom data sources, enabling customers to incorporate the result into their own routing, authentication, analytics, and risk-management processes. The consistency assessment is to be used as a risk indicator, not a source of truth.
